Grzegorz Nawrocki is a Polish architect and marine painter. He was born in Gorzów Wielkopolski in 1957. In 1982 he graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Poznań University of Technology. He currently lives in Leszno and runs his own architectural company, while simultaneously devoting himself to his great passion – maritime painting. Over the years his paintings began to appear in respected Polish maritime magazines, and they depicted various types of vessels. He has always given great attention to the painter’s perspective, the realities of navigation and the appearance of the sea. Analysis of the historic situation, iconography and atmospheric conditions are always the solid basis for his creation of images. Nowadays his paintings are highly appreciated not only by the editors of famous Polish maritime magazines, but also by international publishers. His paintings and illustrations appear on the covers and in the pages of many maritime books, and they decorate the covers of model publications, postcards and calendars. Many of his paintings have been commissioned by shipowners and shipyards. The maritime paintings of Grzegorz Nawrocki are in great demand by international buyers and collectors of marine art. A series of his paintings depicting famous Polish sailing ships is to be found in the seaside Jurata – the summer residence of the President of Poland.
